Color oops?

I just bought color oops and tried a piece of my hair to see what it would do. The color oops smells SOOOO BAD!!! i was wondering if its normal for it to smell bad? even now that it's washed out i can still smell it and i even put conditiner to get the smell out. this was only one piece of my hair i dont think i can stand the smell and to do the whole head ewww!!! lol so yeah just wondering if it suppose to smell REALLy bad.
