Homemade heavy bag stand?

i cant afford to buy one so im thinking about making one. what materials should i use? i have a basketball stand. its made out of metal. and i also have access to a welding booth in my woodshop cl. but would it be strong enough to hold a 100lb bag? im going to put it in a deep hole and maybe reinforce it with cement. so far thats my plan but im just wondering if there is something else that i can do. are there any better materials to use?? stronger metals? whoever can help me out with this will get 10 pts.
