How do i become close to prophet mohammed?

i was raised as a christan and married a muslim and i have converted to islam i do believe that ALLAH is one and i believe that ALLAH sent mohammed as a messenger with the message of islam but i know very little about him i still feel like i know noah and prophet jesus and the others and feel closer to them can you tell me if i will become closer to mohammed the more i read about him and why i feel strange when i read about him is it because i dont know much about him please help
