Who is wrong here???? My mom or I? Help?

Ok, so I have a hobby, and its painting. Anyways, I painted something for my mom but I never really got it finished and I was waiting for an special occasion to give it to her. She had actually seen the picture before (all thanks to her snooping around my room). Anyways, today was her birthday so I finally finished the picture and (since I know had an occasion) I gave it to her. Later she came and talked to me and told me that I had made her upset because she said that I had given her a "hand me down" and then wouldnt even let me tell my side of the story! I did not give it to her as a "hand me down!" She says that the reason I gave the picture to her was because I had nothing else to give her and that I had forgotten her birthday, and I HADN'T! Also, she actually handed my gift straight back to me! Immature much??? Geez, she is acting like an upset 2 year old! Who is wrong, my mom or I?
